Palestinian schools are currently facing relentless targeting by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers, which disrupts the educational process and threatens the future of students. In the West Bank, educational institutions are subjected to repeated incursions, and students, teachers and educational staff are delayed at military checkpoints, which leads to the obstruction of education and the creation of an unsafe environment for learning.
In the Gaza Strip, with 15 months into the educational genocide caused by the ongoing aggression, the destruction continues to hinder the full resumption of education. More than 12,000 school students have been murdered as a result of the escalating occupation violations, in one of the most brutal crimes in the history of targeting education.
In this context, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education affirms that these violations represent an existential threat to the future of children, and calls on the international community, human rights and international institutions to assume their responsibilities towards these crimes, and to work to protect students and children and ensure their legitimate right to receive a free and safe education.
